The Besser Museum is putting a new twist on their annual juried art exhibit. For the past 40 years, artists from around Michigan have been entering their artwork into the Besser Museum’s Juried Art Exhibit with hopes their art will be accepted by the juror for exhibition and possibly even take best of show.

This year, the Besser Museum is putting a new twist on things, starting with the art exhibit being non-juried and opened to Michigan artists of all ages.

The Besser Museum does reserve the right to accept or reject any submission. All submissions must be original works of art completed in the last five years. The challenge this year, is all artwork cannot exceed the one foot by one foot by one foot maximum measurement.”

All art entries, either 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional, cannot exceed the one foot by one foot by one foot maximum measurement. No diptychs or triptychs.

Entries will be accepted at the Besser Museum September 2, 2017 through September 15, 2017.  The Best Foot exhibit will open October 21 and run through December 30, 2017.

The entry fee for the Best Foot non-juried art exhibit is $20 per entry. Artists are limited to a total of five art entries at $20 each for a total entry fee of $100.

All proceeds from the entry fees will go towards framing a collection of fine art from the Besser Museum’s permanent collection for exhibition.  Best Foot participants will be able to cast one vote per entry fee for either the Itzchak Tarkay collection or Hoi Lebadang collection. The collection with the most votes will be framed and exhibited in February 2018 through September 2018.
